Job Description
Join WestRock’s dedicated team in San Antonio as a Cardboard Tube Cutter. This essential role contributes to the production of high-quality cardboard tubes used in various packaging applications. You will be responsible for operating machinery to cut cardboard tubes to precise specifications, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor cardboard tube cutting machinery according to production schedules and safety guidelines.
- Load raw materials (cardboard rolls) into machines and unload finished tubes.
- Measure and verify dimensions of cut tubes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine machine adjustments and basic maintenance tasks.
- Inspect finished products for defects and report any issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and maintain an efficient workflow.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
