Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team in Downtown Lubbock, TX. This role emphasizes proficiency with modern analytical instrumentation to support our diverse range of testing services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing complex chemical analyses, interpreting results, and contributing to method development and validation. This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to work both from our state-of-the-art laboratory and remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of modern analytical instruments including GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, ICP-MS, and Spectroscopy (AAS, FTIR).
  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses on a wide range of samples following established SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate new analytical methods for various matrices and analytes.
  • Interpret complex data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to internal teams and clients.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control procedures, laboratory safety protocols, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Participate in laboratory investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and other scientific teams.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all experimental data, observations, and results.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with modern analytical instrumentation (e.g., GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, ICP-MS).
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and statistical data analysis.
  • Proficiency in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., ISO 17025, GMP, GLP).
  • Knowledge of environmental, food, or pharmaceutical testing methodologies.
  • Experience with advanced data processing software.
  • Certifications in specific analytical techniques.
