Job Description
As a Picker Packer at Amazon, you will be a crucial part of our fulfillment process, ensuring customer orders are accurately and efficiently processed. This role involves picking items from shelves, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You’ll use handheld scanners, maintain a clean workstation, and adhere to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products using handheld scanners from designated warehouse locations.
- Efficiently pack items according to Amazon's standards to prevent damage during transit.
- Receive and process new inventory, including physically moving products and updating inventory systems.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or order pickers, after proper training and certification (if applicable).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets and ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Perform quality checks on products to identify and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 49 pounds.
- Basic computer navigation skills for using handheld scanners and internal systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics environment.
- Experience using an RF scanner or similar inventory management system.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
