Job Description

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic 15-year-old looking for a fun and rewarding leadership opportunity? The YMCA of Laredo is seeking dynamic Teen Camp Leaders for our School Holiday Programs! This is your chance to inspire younger campers, facilitate engaging activities, and contribute to a safe and exciting environment during school breaks. You’ll gain valuable leadership experience, develop new skills, and make a real difference in your community while having a fantastic time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise groups of campers (ages 5-12) in various age-appropriate activities, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  • Facilitate and actively participate in games, crafts, sports, songs, and other planned camp programs.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among campers.
  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity areas and camp facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with camp staff, senior leaders, and campers.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and fun camp atmosphere for all participants.
  • Attend all required training sessions and meetings prior to and during the camp program.

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience participating in camp programs (as a camper or junior leader).
  • Basic knowledge of first aid or willingness to learn and be certified (training provided).
  • Familiarity with the YMCA's mission and values.
