Job Description

As a FedEx Claims Processor, you will be a vital part of our administrative and insurance team, responsible for meticulously processing shipping claims, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring fair and timely resolution for our customers. This role involves extensive data entry, communication with various departments, and adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines related to shipping and insurance claims. You will play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction and protecting company assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming shipping and insurance claims with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Investigate claim details, including reviewing shipping documents, proof of delivery, and customer communications.
  • Communicate with customers, internal departments (e.g., operations, sales, legal), and third-party insurers to gather necessary information.
  • Evaluate claims against established company policies, shipping terms, and insurance agreements.
  • Determine claim eligibility and appropriate resolution, including approvals, denials, or settlement offers.
  • Maintain detailed records of all claims activities and resolutions in the claims management system.
  • Prepare and submit reports on claim trends, issues, and processing metrics.
  • Identify and escalate complex or high-value claims to senior management or legal counsel.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and internal company procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in claims processing, administrative support, or a related field, preferably within logistics, insurance, or transportation.
  • Proficiency in using claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions based on established guidelines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a calm and professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Experience with FedEx specific claims procedures or similar large-scale logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with cargo insurance policies and regulations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
