Job Description
Are you a pet-loving teenager looking for your first job in a fun and rewarding environment? PetSmart is seeking enthusiastic 14-year-old teens to join our Dog Daycare team as an Aide in Wesley Chapel, FL. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop responsibility, and spend your time interacting with adorable dogs of all breeds and sizes. You’ll be an essential part of ensuring our furry guests have a safe, happy, and stimulating day.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise dog playgroups under the guidance of experienced staff, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
- Engage with dogs through play, petting, and positive reinforcement.
- Assist with feeding dogs according to their specific schedules and dietary needs.
- Clean and maintain daycare areas, including play yards and kennels, to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or illness and report concerns to senior staff.
- Help with basic dog handling tasks, such as leash management during transitions.
- Assist with customer check-ins and check-outs as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Must be 14 years of age or older.
- Genuine love for animals and a passion for their well-being.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Capable of light physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for pets (e.g., family pets, pet sitting for neighbors).
- Understanding of basic dog behavior and body language.
