Job Description
Are you a motivated and energetic 14-year-old looking for your first job experience? Publix is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Baggers. This entry-level position is perfect for teens who are eager to learn the ropes of the grocery and fast-food environment, gain valuable customer service skills, and contribute to a friendly and efficient shopping experience. You’ll be a vital part of our store, ensuring customers leave with a smile and their groceries are packed perfectly.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently bag customer groceries, ensuring proper handling of delicate items and effective use of bag space.
- Offer to assist customers with carrying groceries to their vehicles, providing a friendly and helpful service.
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas, ensuring they are readily available for customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-end area, including bagging stations and aisles.
- Assist with light stocking and general store maintenance as directed by supervisors.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers with a positive attitude and answering basic questions.
- Adhere to all store policies and safety procedures, especially those pertaining to minor employees.
Required Skills
- Must be 14 years of age or older (per Florida labor laws for minors)
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with customers and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Basic math skills for assisting with transactions (if applicable, under supervision)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
