Job Description

Join Finnebrogue Artisan as an Eco-Farm Picker and become a vital part of our mission to deliver sustainable and organic produce. This hands-on role involves harvesting a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs according to strict organic guidelines. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our produce from farm to customer, ensuring every item meets our high standards for freshness and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

  • Carefully harvest a wide range of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs by hand, ensuring minimal damage and optimal ripeness.
  • Adhere strictly to organic farming protocols and quality control standards during the picking process.
  • Assist with sorting, washing, and preparing produce for packaging and distribution.
  • Monitor crop health and report any signs of pests, diseases, or unusual growth to the farm manager.
  • Participate in general farm maintenance tasks, including weeding, planting, and irrigation setup.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment in the fields and packing areas.
  • Operate basic farm equipment safely and efficiently, as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with the farm team to meet daily harvesting targets and seasonal demands.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or a similar outdoor labour role.
  • Basic knowledge of organic farming principles or sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport.
  • First Aid certification is a plus.
