Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pro Audio Transcriber to join our dynamic team in Pittsburgh. This role demands exceptional listening skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of nuanced audio content. The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering transcription quality equivalent to or exceeding Rev’s ‘Pro Tier’ standards, handling complex audio with multiple speakers, difficult accents, and technical jargon with accuracy and speed. You will play a crucial role in supporting various projects across Google, including research initiatives, product development, and content creation, by transforming audio recordings into precise, searchable text.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio and video content with superior accuracy, identifying and attributing speakers, and discerning difficult speech.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on transcribed content, ensuring grammatical correctness, proper punctuation, and adherence to specified style guides.
- Handle a diverse range of audio formats and topics, from technical discussions and interviews to lectures and creative content.
- Manage transcription projects efficiently, meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to understand specific project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive audio content.
- Provide constructive feedback on audio quality and transcription tools to improve processes and outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional audio transcriber with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality work.
- Exceptional listening comprehension skills, capable of accurately transcribing challenging audio.
- Superior command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 70 WPM).
- Proficiency with transcription software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience achieving 'Pro Tier' or equivalent quality levels on major transcription platforms (e.g., Rev.com, TranscribeMe).
- Familiarity with technical terminology in fields such as computer science, engineering, or artificial intelligence.
- Experience with multilingual transcription or understanding of various accents.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Experience with various audio editing or enhancement tools.
