Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Hospital Site Services Porter to join our Maintenance & Logistics team at Spire Norwich Hospital. This vital role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our hospital environment, directly impacting patient experience and staff effectiveness. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks from patient transport and equipment movement to general maintenance support and logistics coordination, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional hospital site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients between wards, departments, and clinic areas using appropriate equipment.
  • Move medical equipment, samples, patient records, and supplies throughout the hospital in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the delivery, collection, and storage of goods, ensuring stock rotation and tidiness.
  • Provide support to the maintenance team with minor repairs, inspections, and moving materials.
  • Respond promptly to requests for portering services, including urgent and emergency situations.
  • Ensure equipment, such as wheelchairs and trolleys, are clean, well-maintained, and readily available.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment, including waste management and linen collection/delivery.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, manual handling procedures, and hospital policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a portering or healthcare support role.
