Job Description

BECU is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Member Service Representative to join our Spokane team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our valued members, providing exceptional service, processing transactions, and identifying opportunities to offer financial solutions that meet their needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet members warmly and provide professional, friendly service in person, over the phone, and via digital channels.
  • Accurately process a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers.
  • Identify member needs and proactively educate them on BECU products and services that align with their financial goals, such as loans, savings accounts, and investment options.
  • Resolve member inquiries and concerns efficiently and effectively, escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all BECU products, services, and digital tools.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and service skills.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Meet or exceed daily and monthly service and sales goals to maximize bonus potential.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with members.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain a balanced drawer.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to member assistance.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a credit union or banking environment.
  • Familiarity with financial products and services (e.g., loans, mortgages, investment accounts).
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is a plus.
