Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate iOS Software Engineer to join our fully remote UK team. You’ll be instrumental in developing and enhancing our industry-leading mobile application, empowering millions of users to manage their finances with ease. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work with a modern Swift stack, including SwiftUI and async/await, contribute to a product used by millions, and collaborate within an agile, customer-centric environment. You’ll be responsible for building robust, scalable, and delightful features that directly impact our customers’ financial well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain features for the Monzo iOS application using Swift and modern Apple frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to define and implement new functionalities.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and continuously improving code standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS technologies, architectural patterns, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Swift programming language.
- Extensive experience with iOS development using UIKit and SwiftUI.
- Deep understanding of iOS architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture).
- Experience with asynchronous programming in Swift, including async/await or Combine.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unit and UI testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices for mobile applications.
- A passion for financial technology and improving customer experiences.
