Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate iOS Software Engineer to join our fully remote UK team. You’ll be instrumental in developing and enhancing our industry-leading mobile application, empowering millions of users to manage their finances with ease. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work with a modern Swift stack, including SwiftUI and async/await, contribute to a product used by millions, and collaborate within an agile, customer-centric environment. You’ll be responsible for building robust, scalable, and delightful features that directly impact our customers’ financial well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain features for the Monzo iOS application using Swift and modern Apple frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to define and implement new functionalities.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, ensuring high quality and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and continuously improving code standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS technologies, architectural patterns, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, tools, and infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Swift programming language.
  • Extensive experience with iOS development using UIKit and SwiftUI.
  • Deep understanding of iOS architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture).
  • Experience with asynchronous programming in Swift, including async/await or Combine.
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Unit and UI testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices for mobile applications.
  • A passion for financial technology and improving customer experiences.
