Job Description
Swift Transportation is seeking highly motivated and experienced Solo OTR Drivers to join our team in Sandy, UT. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently over long distances.
- Choose and accept loads based on personal preference and schedule availability.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of freight to various destinations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and all required documentation.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Represent Swift Transportation professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and hours of service (HOS)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Tanker (N) or Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements
- Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., dry van, reefer)
- Proven track record of on-time deliveries and safe driving
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management software
