Job Description
Are you passionate about design, aesthetics, and creating engaging retail environments? Target is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Visual Merchandising Assistant (Trainee) to join our team in Buckeye, Arizona. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to start a career in visual merchandising, with full training provided to help you master the skills needed to succeed. You will work closely with our experienced visual merchandisers, learning the art and science of display creation, product presentation, and store aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior visual merchandisers in planning, creating, and executing in-store visual displays according to corporate guidelines and seasonal themes.
- Learn to arrange products, signage, and promotional materials to maximize visual appeal and drive sales.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of display areas, ensuring all merchandise is well-stocked and presentable.
- Support the team in preparing for new product launches, seasonal transitions, and promotional events.
- Gain hands-on experience with display fixtures, props, and lighting techniques.
- Provide input and contribute creative ideas during team brainstorming sessions.
- Adhere to all safety standards and company policies during display setup and maintenance.
- Develop a strong understanding of current fashion and retail trends.
Required Skills
- A strong passion for visual design, fashion, or retail.
- Excellent attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders (with training).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail setting (even if not visual merchandising specific).
- Basic knowledge of design principles or visual arts.
- Familiarity with the Target brand and products.
