Job Description
Seeking dedicated and reliable individuals for the role of Flea Market Trash Collector for end-of-day cleanup operations. This essential role ensures our market grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors and vendors alike. You will be responsible for the thorough collection and disposal of waste materials after market hours, contributing to a pleasant environment for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect all refuse and waste materials from flea market stalls, walkways, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Transport collected waste to designated disposal areas.
- Operate small cleaning equipment (e.g., hand trucks, push carts) as needed.
- Ensure proper segregation of recyclable materials, if applicable.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or unusual findings to the supervisor.
- Perform other cleaning duties as assigned to maintain cleanliness standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as collaboratively as part of a small team.
- Basic understanding of waste sorting (e.g., general trash vs. recyclables).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management, custodial, or general labor roles.
- Familiarity with flea market or event cleanup operations.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours consistently.
- Valid driver's license (not always required but can be a plus for transport if needed).
