Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Frontend Engineer to join our innovative Web Technologies team. This role is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK, focusing on creating exceptional user experiences for Google’s diverse web products. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying highly performant, scalable, and accessible web applications that impact users globally. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve front-end software for Google's web applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to define and implement innovative solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern web technologies and best practices.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
- Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues across various web browsers and devices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging web technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Extensive experience with modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques and browser rendering behavior.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, modular, and well-tested code.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Knowledge of server-side rendering (SSR) or static site generation (SSG).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
- Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and user-centered design.
- Experience with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel).
