Job Description
Join XPO Logistics as a Port Authority Warehouse Aide with a focus on global trade. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring accurate handling of goods, and contributing to the smooth flow of international shipments. This position is ideal for individuals eager to learn about global trade processes within a dynamic logistics environment, requiring precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and process inbound shipments, verifying accuracy against manifest and identifying any discrepancies.
- Prepare outbound shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling goods according to company standards and global trade regulations.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking, data entry, and record-keeping related to global trade transactions.
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified), in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation efforts to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Support documentation efforts for international shipping, customs declarations, and compliance with global trade laws.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize warehouse flow and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Perform general warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and WMS interaction.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center setting.
- Forklift certification (stand-up and sit-down) or ability to obtain one.
- Familiarity with global trade documentation or import/export processes.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
