Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Medical Gas Cylinder Porter to join our dedicated team at Royal Stoke University Hospital. This vital role involves the safe and efficient movement and management of medical gas cylinders throughout the hospital, ensuring a continuous supply for patient care. You will be responsible for transporting cylinders to various wards and departments, monitoring stock levels, and adhering strictly to health and safety protocols. This is a stable role within a critical healthcare environment, ideal for an individual committed to safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport medical gas cylinders to designated areas across the hospital site.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels of medical gas cylinders in storage and on wards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of cylinder movements and usage.
  • Perform routine checks on cylinder integrity and report any defects or safety concerns.
  • Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations regarding medical gases.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of gas cylinder deliveries.
  • Participate in safety training and refreshers as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment for gas cylinder storage areas.
