Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Shopify Project Manager to lead web design and development projects for our diverse portfolio of clients. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and scope definition through to successful launch and post-launch support. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision is translated into exceptional Shopify e-commerce experiences. This role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and modern web development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Shopify web design and development projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and fostering strong relationships.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against these plans.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and QA specialists, to achieve project objectives.
- Conduct regular project meetings, stand-ups, and reviews, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Provide expert guidance on Shopify best practices, apps, and integrations to enhance client solutions.
- Facilitate successful project handovers and provide support for post-launch activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in a digital agency or e-commerce environment, specifically with Shopify projects.
- Strong understanding of the Shopify platform, including themes, apps, APIs, and e-commerce best practices.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships effectively and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Partner Certification or relevant e-commerce certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and UI/UX principles.
- Experience working with international clients and diverse project requirements.
