Job Description
Swift Transportation is actively seeking dedicated CDL-A Team Drivers to join our dynamic and growing fleet. We are offering an exceptional opportunity with a competitive pay package of $0.80 CPM and the chance to operate brand new 2024 equipment. As a team driver, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight across various long-haul routes. This role demands excellent communication, a commitment to safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with your driving partner. This position is based out of our Huntington Beach, CA hub, with routes spanning the continental U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently in a team driving environment.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all required paperwork diligently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned equipment, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and your driving partner.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Manage hours of service effectively to maximize driving time while ensuring compliance and safety.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3-5 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven commitment to safety and compliance
- Proficiency with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements
- Experience with various trailer types (dry van, reefer)
- Familiarity with cross-country and regional freight operations
- Graduation from an accredited CDL training program
- Experience operating new model trucks with advanced safety features
