Job Description

As a Supply Chain Controller at Tesco’s Cannock distribution centre, you will be instrumental in optimising our supply chain operations. This role involves overseeing the flow of goods from suppliers to our stores, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. You will be responsible for inventory management, logistics coordination, and process improvement initiatives to support our vast retail network. We are seeking a proactive and analytical professional with a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and analyse inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability and minimising waste.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the supply chain.
  • Prepare regular reports on supply chain performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, including procurement, sales, and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS, CIPS).
  • Experience with lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • Experience within the retail or FMCG sector.
