Job Description

As the Fashion Designer / Creative Director – Global Talent / Sponsorship at Neiman Marcus, you will be a pivotal force in shaping our brand’s aesthetic and fostering strategic relationships within the global fashion ecosystem. This unique hybrid role combines hands-on design leadership with the strategic oversight of talent acquisition and brand sponsorships. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing cutting-edge fashion narratives, while also identifying, nurturing, and collaborating with global talent and influential partners to elevate Neiman Marcus’s presence and impact in the luxury market. This role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of design, market trends, and a passion for building lasting partnerships that resonate with our discerning clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of exclusive collections or collaborations, ensuring alignment with Neiman Marcus's luxury brand identity.
  • Define and articulate seasonal creative directions and themes for internal and external brand initiatives.
  • Identify and scout emerging and established global fashion talent for potential partnerships, sponsorships, and exclusive collaborations.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with designers, artists, influencers, and industry organizations worldwide.
  • Oversee the negotiation and execution of talent and sponsorship agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and brand alignment.
  • Direct photoshoots, campaigns, and visual merchandising to convey compelling brand stories.
  • Stay abreast of global fashion trends, cultural shifts, and competitive landscapes to inform creative strategies and talent scouting.
  • Present creative concepts and strategies to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of designers and creative professionals.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in fashion design and creative direction.
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative design concepts and successful project execution.
  • Strong understanding of luxury market trends, consumer behavior, and brand positioning.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and cultivate global talent and strategic partnerships.
  • Expertise in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CLO 3D).
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally for talent scouting, events, and partnership meetings.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related creative field.
  • Existing network of contacts within the international fashion industry.
  • Experience with sustainable and ethical fashion practices.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly those relevant to key fashion markets.
  • Experience in event planning and execution for fashion shows or launches.
