Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room / Theatre Nurse to join our exceptional surgical team. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons during operations by anticipating needs, handling instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and condition throughout surgery, promptly reporting any changes or concerns.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient assessment, education, and emotional support.
- Document all aspects of nursing care accurately and thoroughly, adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical nursing.
Required Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with current licensure in country of origin (ability to obtain Colombian licensure upon arrival).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Operating Room or Surgical Nurse.
- Proficiency in surgical asepsis and infection control practices.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Specialty certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR).
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties (e.g., general, orthopedic, cardiovascular).
- Proficiency in Spanish or willingness to learn.
