Job Description

As a Pinterest Knowledge Graph Associate with a Data focus, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and integrity of Pinterest’s vast Knowledge Graph. You will be responsible for evaluating, annotating, and curating data, identifying trends, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to improve data models and algorithms. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for organizing information at scale to empower discovery for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data annotation and validation to ensure high-quality entries in the Knowledge Graph.
  • Analyze data patterns and discrepancies to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to define data requirements and improve graph schema.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new data models and algorithms affecting the Knowledge Graph.
  • Monitor data quality metrics and provide actionable insights to cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to documentation of data standards, best practices, and annotation guidelines.
  • Participate in regular data review meetings, providing updates and recommendations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Linguistics, or related field).
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data annotation, or a related data-centric role.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, ontologies, and knowledge representation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify subtle patterns and inconsistencies in large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and scripting.
  • Familiarity with knowledge graph technologies (e.g., RDF, SPARQL, graph databases).
  • Previous experience working on a large-scale consumer product.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application to data quality.
