Job Description
Join the Electronic Arts team as an EA Sports Community Moderator with a special focus on Safe Gaming. In this vital role, you will be on the front lines, ensuring our EA Sports online communities remain positive, respectful, and safe environments for all players. You will be responsible for moderating user-generated content, resolving conflicts, and actively promoting a culture of fair play and constructive interaction. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to player well-being within our vibrant gaming ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor EA Sports forums, social media channels, in-game chats, and other community platforms for violations of community guidelines and terms of service.
- Enforce community rules and policies consistently and fairly, applying appropriate moderation actions (e.g., warnings, temporary bans, permanent bans).
- Investigate and respond to player reports regarding harassment, abuse, cheating, and other inappropriate behavior.
- Engage with the community in a positive and constructive manner, providing support and guidance on community standards.
- Escalate complex or severe moderation issues to senior team members or legal departments as necessary.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of moderation strategies and community guidelines.
- Identify and report emerging trends in problematic content or behavior within the community.
- Collaborate with game development and community management teams to ensure a consistent and positive player experience.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
- Deep understanding of online gaming communities and their dynamics.
- Familiarity with EA Sports titles and their respective player bases.
- Proficiency with various community moderation tools and platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain neutrality and objectivity in challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience (2+ years) in online community moderation, particularly within the gaming industry.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in online safety and digital citizenship.
- Experience with content management systems and data analytics tools for community insights.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
