As a Pediatric Nurse, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, providing expert, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
- Advocate for patients' needs and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Skills
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing in an acute care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Demonstrated strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills when interacting with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certification in a pediatric specialty (e.g., CPN).
- Experience in a specific pediatric unit such as NICU, PICU, Oncology, or Emergency Department.
