Job Description

The Children’s Hospital Charity is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic STEM Education & Outreach Intern to join our dedicated team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to vital educational programs, engage with schools and the public, and inspire young minds about the wonders of STEM, all while supporting the incredible work of Sheffield Children’s Hospital. You will play a crucial role in developing and delivering engaging educational content, organizing outreach events, and promoting our charity’s mission. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and delivery of engaging STEM educational materials and workshops for various age groups.
  • Support the coordination and execution of outreach events, school visits, and community programs.
  • Help create promotional content (digital and print) to advertise STEM initiatives and charity events.
  • Engage with students, teachers, and parents to foster interest in STEM subjects and the charity's mission.
  • Conduct research to identify new educational trends, outreach opportunities, and potential community partners.
  • Provide administrative support for educational programs, including scheduling, material preparation, and record-keeping.
  • Represent The Children's Hospital Charity at events, clearly communicating our goals and impact.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for STEM education and community engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a STEM field, Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Previous volunteer experience in education, non-profit, or youth engagement roles.
  • Familiarity with various educational methodologies and presentation techniques.
  • Experience creating digital content or managing social media.
