Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event & Banquet Manager to lead our events team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of all banquet and catering events, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for our guests. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. The Event & Banquet Manager will oversee all operational aspects from setup to breakdown, manage staff, and maintain excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and catering events.
- Manage and lead a team of banquet staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Work closely with clients, sales, and culinary teams to ensure all event specifications are met and exceeded.
- Monitor inventory of banquet equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for banquet service to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Manage event budgets, control costs, and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Address and resolve any guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings with relevant teams.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in event or banquet management within a hotel or large-scale venue.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Handler's permit and/or relevant certifications as required by local regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field.
- Experience with upscale or luxury hotel brands.
- Certification in event planning (e.g., CMP – Certified Meeting Professional).
- Multilingual abilities.
