Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Test & Validation Engineer to join our innovative team in Parksville, BC. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and procedures for our cutting-edge automotive components and systems. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our products, from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test methodology, data analysis, and a passion for precision engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement test plans, procedures, and fixtures for automotive components and systems.
- Execute various tests, including functional, performance, environmental, and durability, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and provide detailed reports and recommendations for design improvements.
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to integrate testing throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Document test results, methodologies, and findings comprehensively, contributing to robust validation records.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in test plan development and execution for mechanical or electrical systems.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN) and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with test equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and simulation.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) or Automotive SPICE.
- Prior experience in the automotive or aerospace industry.
