Job Description
Join CGI as a Site Reliability Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of our critical systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned SRE to contribute to robust, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable production systems.
- Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
- Automate repetitive tasks and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents, diagnose root causes, and implement preventative measures.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features are designed with reliability and operational excellence in mind.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and system responsiveness.
- Promote best practices in SRE, including post-mortems, blameless culture, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Go, Ruby, Bash).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Solid understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systems and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience in a regulated industry environment.
