Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients, medical equipment, specimens, and supplies throughout the hospital.
- Assist nursing and medical staff with patient transfers, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
- Deliver and collect patient meals, laundry, and other ward provisions.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of all transport equipment, including wheelchairs and trolleys.
- Respond promptly to requests and assignments via communication systems (e.g., radio, pager).
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, infection control, and manual handling policies and procedures.
- Provide polite and compassionate interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform duties involving lifting, pushing, and prolonged standing/walking.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or care-related role.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Experience working in a hospital or other healthcare setting (including voluntary work).
- Enrolled in a further education or higher education program.
