Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport patients, medical equipment, specimens, and supplies throughout the hospital.
  • Assist nursing and medical staff with patient transfers, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Deliver and collect patient meals, laundry, and other ward provisions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of all transport equipment, including wheelchairs and trolleys.
  • Respond promptly to requests and assignments via communication systems (e.g., radio, pager).
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, infection control, and manual handling policies and procedures.
  • Provide polite and compassionate interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform duties involving lifting, pushing, and prolonged standing/walking.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or care-related role.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Experience working in a hospital or other healthcare setting (including voluntary work).
  • Enrolled in a further education or higher education program.
