Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in retail? Jumbo Colombia is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Cashier & Till Operators in Medellín. This is an entry-level position perfect for those eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced retail environment. We offer flexible shifts to accommodate various schedules, making it an ideal opportunity for students or those seeking work-life balance. As a key member of our front-line team, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately to process customer transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of payment efficiently and securely.
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service, answering questions and directing them as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Assist customers with bagging groceries or merchandise.
- Monitor checkout queues and call for assistance when necessary to ensure efficient service.
- Stay informed about current promotions, sales, and loyalty programs to accurately inform customers.
- Resolve customer complaints or refer them to a supervisor for further assistance.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service.
Required Skills
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail setting (even informal experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingualism (Spanish and English) is a plus.
