Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Connectivity Specialist to join our dynamic team in Beltline, Calgary. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operational connectivity, ensuring seamless Wi-Fi and network performance for our internal teams and client-facing operations. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software, with a strong focus on Wi-Fi systems. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high availability and performance across our network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Wi-Fi access points, routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize connectivity and speed.
- Troubleshoot network issues (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN) and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Perform regular network audits and security checks to ensure compliance and protect data integrity.
- Manage network documentation, including diagrams, IP addresses, and configuration details.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve connectivity-related help desk tickets.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users on network-related inquiries.
- Stay current with emerging network technologies and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in network administration or support, with a focus on Wi-Fi technologies.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-grade Wi-Fi systems (e.g., Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, Aruba).
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CWNA.
- Experience with network security principles and tools (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
