Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit Plasterer Offsider to join our dynamic construction team in Guelph. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to kickstart their career in the construction industry or apply their existing strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment. You will work Monday to Friday, providing essential support to our experienced plasterers, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution. Reliability, a keen eye for safety, and a willingness to learn are paramount in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified plasterers with material preparation, mixing, and application.
- Safely transport plastering materials, tools, and equipment around the job site.
- Prepare surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, minor repairs, and masking.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow all company safety protocols and site-specific regulations.
- Perform general labour duties as required to support the plastering team.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and stamina for demanding tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Reliability and excellent attendance record.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience on a construction site, even in a general labour capacity.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
