Job Description
Join Stanford Health Care’s dedicated team as an Infusion Nurse (RN) at our state-of-the-art private clinic in Sunnyvale, California. We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional infusion therapy services to our diverse patient population. This role offers flexible day shifts, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while making a significant impact on patient well-being. You will work within a supportive environment, utilizing your expertise to administer various intravenous treatments, monitor patient responses, and educate patients and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN passionate about specialized care in a private clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous medications, blood products, and other therapies safely and accurately according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitor patients during infusions for adverse reactions, complications, and effectiveness of treatment, documenting all observations.
- Assess patient health status, including medical history pertinent to infusion therapy, and develop individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on infusion procedures, medication side effects, self-care practices, and potential complications.
- Maintain and manage central lines, peripheral IVs, and other vascular access devices, ensuring patency and preventing infection.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Accurately document all patient care activities, treatments, and communications in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and facility-specific policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an Infusion Nurse or in a relevant clinical setting (e.g., oncology, critical care, ED).
- Current BLS certification.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV insertion, and central line management.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certification in Infusion Nursing (CRNI) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
- Experience with specific EMR systems such as Epic.
- PICC line insertion and maintenance experience.
- Experience in a private clinic or outpatient setting.
