Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting entry-level opportunity that takes you out on the water? Ohio River Expeditions is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our crew as a Ferry Deck Sweeper. This full-time, on-site position is perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors, and contributing to the smooth operation of our vessels. No prior experience is required – we provide all necessary training. As a key member of our deck crew, you will ensure the cleanliness and safety of our ferry decks, enhancing the passenger experience and supporting overall vessel operations. This role offers a unique chance to travel and work on the water, making a direct impact on the quality of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of ferry decks, including sweeping, mopping, and hosing down surfaces.
- Empty trash receptacles and manage waste disposal according to company guidelines.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of passenger luggage and cargo, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness of passenger areas, restrooms, and crew facilities.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to the deck supervisor.
- Assist passengers with general inquiries and provide directional assistance as needed.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures as instructed.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and maritime laws.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient and safe vessel operations.

- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
