Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious High-Window Glass Cleaner to join our specialized team in Old Strathcona, Edmonton. This role involves performing high-level window cleaning for commercial and residential properties, ensuring exceptional clarity and streak-free results. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with various high-access equipment and techniques, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and an eye for detail. This is a specialist role requiring precision, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-rise and challenging-access window cleaning using professional techniques and equipment (e.g., rope access, aerial lifts, water-fed poles).
- Inspect windows and surfaces for damage or special cleaning requirements before commencing work.
- Prepare work sites, including setting up safety equipment, warning signs, and protective coverings.
- Clean windows thoroughly, ensuring streak-free finishes and attention to frames and sills.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment in good working order and report any malfunctions or damage.
- Adhere strictly to all company and industry safety standards and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project status and any issues.
- Complete tasks efficiently and within scheduled timeframes, maintaining a high standard of work quality.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in high-window glass cleaning, including working at heights.
- Proficiency with high-access cleaning equipment (e.g., scaffolding, boom lifts, rope access systems).
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols and fall protection.
- Excellent physical stamina, balance, and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working at Heights certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Previous experience with commercial and residential high-rise buildings.
- Knowledge of various cleaning solutions and their appropriate application.
- Experience operating aerial work platforms (AWP) or mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP).
