Job Description
AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neuro ICU Nurse with a passion for caring for patients with complex brain and spinal injuries. Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neurological patients, including those with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurological disorders.
- Monitor neurological status closely, interpret diagnostic data, and recognize subtle changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Manage advanced neuro-monitoring equipment, including ICP monitors, cerebral oximetry, and continuous EEG.
- Administer medications, perform complex treatments, and assist with procedures specific to neurocritical care.
- Collaborate effectively with neurosurgeons, neurologists, intensivists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Respond to emergency situations with calm and decisive action.
Required Skills
- Current RN license in the state of Florida.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute care setting, with at least 1 year in a Neuro ICU or Critical Care Unit.
- Demonstrated expertise in neurological assessment and neurocritical care interventions.
- Proficiency in interpreting advanced neurological monitoring data.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems specific to AdventHealth (e.g., Cerner).
- Prior experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages.
