Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Warehouse Freight Handler to join our early morning shift team in Wesley Chapel, FL. This vital role involves the efficient and safe loading, unloading, and movement of freight within our busy distribution center. You will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled with care, correctly sorted, and prepared for their next destination. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are physically fit, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, even if you have limited prior experience in a warehouse setting. Early morning availability is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Sort and stage freight according to destination and shipping instructions.
- Verify count and condition of freight, identifying and reporting any discrepancies or damage.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation to arrive for early morning shifts.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor role.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
