Job Description
PCL Construction is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Gatekeeper to join our team in Calgary. This role is essential for maintaining site security, controlling access, and ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites during stable day shifts. If you’re looking for a no-stress, consistent position with a leading construction company, this is the opportunity for you. You will be the first point of contact for all visitors and deliveries, playing a crucial role in site safety and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the construction site for personnel, vehicles, and deliveries.
- Verify credentials and log all visitors and contractors entering and exiting the site.
- Operate gate barriers and ensure proper closure when unattended.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and records of site activity.
- Communicate effectively with site management, contractors, and visitors.
- Report any suspicious activities, safety hazards, or unauthorized entry immediately.
- Assist with basic site organization and direct visitors to appropriate areas.
- Adhere to all site safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy for logging information.
- Ability to work independently and maintain vigilance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, gatekeeping, or a construction site environment.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety protocols.
- First Aid certification.
