Job Description
Join the Sysco Santa Ana team as a Food Prep Packer! This vital role involves preparing and packing a variety of food products in a cold room environment to ensure quality and freshness. You will work as part of a dedicated team to meet daily production goals, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are meticulously followed. This position offers premium pay due to the specialized cold room conditions and the critical nature of the work. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and pack food items according to established specifications and quality standards.
- Operate basic food processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the cold room.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform quality checks on products to ensure freshness and correct packaging.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a cold room environment (temperatures typically between 35-40°F / 1-4°C).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, packing, or a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with HACCP or other food safety systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
