Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Clinic Nurse to join our health services team in Omaha, NE. This stable full-time position will be situated in our factory/industrial setting, providing essential on-site medical care and health management services to our employees. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in promoting a safe and healthy work environment, managing workplace injuries and illnesses, conducting health screenings, and implementing wellness programs. This role requires a strong understanding of occupational health principles and a proactive approach to employee care within a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Conduct pre-placement, periodic, and return-to-work physical examinations and health screenings.
  • Administer first aid and emergency care as needed, coordinating with emergency medical services when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with safety teams to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
  • Develop and implement health promotion and wellness programs for employees.
  • Assist with case management for work-related injuries, including workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Educate employees on health-related topics, including ergonomics, nutrition, and disease prevention.

Required Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, or industrial clinic setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in administering first aid, BLS, and ideally ACLS certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation laws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN).
  • Experience with audiometry and spirometry.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems specific to occupational health.
