Job Description
Join CVS Health as a Retail Pharmacy Technician and become an integral part of our patient care team in Laredo, TX. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in dispensing medication, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Process prescription refills and new prescriptions, ensuring proper patient information and insurance details are captured
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions, maintaining accurate cash flow
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures related to pharmacy operations
- Assist with immunization clinics and other patient care initiatives as needed
- Support the pharmacy team in achieving operational goals and patient satisfaction targets
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA
- Previous experience in a retail, customer service, or healthcare setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency to better serve our diverse community
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and common drug names
