Job Description
We are seeking a highly reliable and vigilant Key Clerk & Porter to join our security team in Dundee. This critical role involves ensuring the utmost security of our premises and assets, with a particular focus on meticulous key management and access control. You will be responsible for the secure handling, issuance, and retrieval of all keys, maintaining detailed logs, and conducting regular security checks. Additionally, you will perform porter duties, assisting with the movement of goods and equipment within the facility, all while upholding the highest standards of security protocol and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure and organised inventory of all facility keys, ensuring accurate logs of issuance and return.
- Manage access control systems, granting and revoking access permissions as per company policy.
- Conduct regular security patrols of the premises, identifying and reporting any anomalies or breaches.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security alarms and incidents, following established procedures.
- Assist with the movement and delivery of goods, packages, and equipment within the facility, adhering to safety and security guidelines.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems to enhance security surveillance.
- Provide exceptional customer service to staff and visitors, maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Prepare and submit detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Uphold all company security policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable high level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including regular patrols and lifting.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
- Valid UK driving license.
- A proactive and vigilant approach to security.
Preferred Qualifications
- SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence – Door Supervisor or Security Guarding.
- Previous experience in a security, logistics, or facilities management role.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems and access control technologies.
