Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bioanalytical Chemist with a focus on protein and small molecule analysis to join our dynamic team in Wesley Chapel, FL. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, validating, and executing robust bioanalytical methods using advanced chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques. This role demands a strong theoretical understanding and practical experience in analyzing biological samples to support drug discovery and development programs. You will be responsible for precise data acquisition, interpretation, and reporting, contributing directly to critical scientific investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and validate bioanalytical methods for the quantification of proteins, peptides, and small molecules in various biological matrices.
  • Operate and maintain complex analytical instrumentation, including LC-MS/MS, HPLC, and UPLC systems.
  • Perform sample preparation using techniques such as protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, and solid-phase extraction.
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with GLP/GCP regulations and internal SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and method-related issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support project goals and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, or M.S. with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or B.S. with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven expertise in LC-MS/MS method development and validation for bioanalytical applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC and mass spectrometry platforms (e.g., Sciex, Waters, Agilent).
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Analyst, MassLynx, Chromeleon).
  • Solid understanding of GLP/GCP regulations and their application in a bioanalytical setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large molecule quantification (e.g., protein therapeutics, biomarkers).
  • Familiarity with immunogenicity assessment techniques.
  • Experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) environment.
  • Knowledge of LIMS systems and electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Understanding of pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) principles.
