Job Description
Are you a technology enthusiast with a knack for building impressive machines? Canada Computers & Electronics is seeking a passionate Custom PC Builder to join our team in North York. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves to assemble high-performance computers, possesses an eye for detail, and thrives on delivering exceptional quality. You will be responsible for bringing our customers’ dream PCs to life, from careful component selection to meticulous assembly and rigorous testing. Key Responsibilities
- Assemble custom-ordered desktop computers from individual components, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Perform initial setup, configuration, and operating system installation on newly built PCs.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of all hardware components (CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, PSU, etc.) to ensure stability and optimal performance.
- Execute professional cable management for clean aesthetics and improved airflow.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware-related issues, performing necessary repairs or component replacements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest PC hardware, industry trends, and building techniques.
- Assist with inventory management related to PC components and accessories.
- Communicate effectively with sales staff and customers regarding build progress, technical details, and potential adjustments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience building and troubleshooting desktop PCs (personal projects, hobbyist builds, or professional experience accepted).
- Strong understanding of PC hardware components, compatibility, and performance metrics.
- Excellent attention to detail and meticulous assembly practices.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring Windows operating systems and drivers.
- Basic knowledge of BIOS/UEFI settings and overclocking principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).
- Experience with liquid cooling solutions (AIO and custom loops).
- Familiarity with various benchmarking and stress testing software.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role.
- Portfolio of past PC builds (photos or descriptions).
