Job Description
This seasonal role as a Package Sorter at UPS involves handling packages in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning packages efficiently and safely, ensuring they reach their correct destinations. We have both morning and night shifts available to accommodate various schedules. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a global logistics leader during our peak season.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload packages from trucks and conveyor belts.
- Sort packages manually and with the aid of sorting equipment based on destination codes.
- Scan packages accurately to track their movement within the system.
- Move packages to designated areas, often requiring lifting and carrying.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 70 lbs (without assistance).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy skills (reading and understanding labels, safety instructions).
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or physically demanding role is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing workloads.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
