Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate individual to join our team in a crucial dual role as Hospital Reception & Porter. This combined front desk position requires a friendly and efficient professional who can manage reception duties while also providing essential portering services to ensure the smooth operation of our hospital. You will be the first point of contact for many of our patients and visitors, making a significant impact on their experience, while also playing a vital role in patient transport and logistical support within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff at the main reception desk with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Manage incoming calls, directing them appropriately and providing accurate information.
  • Handle patient registrations, appointments, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
  • Transport patients safely and comfortably between wards, departments, and consultation rooms.
  • Assist with the movement of equipment, medical supplies, and specimens as required.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and well-organized.
  • Liaise effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow and service delivery.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist staff as directed, maintaining a calm and helpful presence.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring lifting, pushing, and walking for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or customer service role.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience using hospital information systems.
