Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shopify Localization Specialist to join our dynamic e-commerce team in Red Deer, Alberta. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Shopify Plus stores for various international markets, ensuring a seamless, culturally relevant, and high-performing online experience for our global customers. You will play a crucial part in our international expansion strategy, bridging language barriers and cultural nuances to drive engagement and sales across diverse regions. This role requires a blend of technical Shopify expertise, a strong understanding of localization best practices, and a passion for global e-commerce.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain multiple Shopify Plus stores tailored for specific international markets, including configuration, content updates, and app integration.
- Oversee the end-to-end localization process for website content, product descriptions, marketing materials, and campaign messaging, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (marketing, product, creative, IT) and external translation agencies to execute localization projects efficiently.
- Implement and optimize international SEO strategies to improve visibility and organic traffic in target markets, conducting keyword research in multiple languages.
- Monitor website performance metrics, user feedback, and market trends in localized regions, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing data-driven solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, payment methods, and shipping requirements for each targeted market.
- Stay current with Shopify platform updates, new features, and industry best practices in e-commerce and localization to continuously enhance our global digital presence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience managing and optimizing Shopify Plus platforms.
- Demonstrable experience in e-commerce localization and internationalization projects.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one other major language (e.g., French, Spanish, German, Mandarin, Japanese).
- Strong understanding of international SEO principles and practices.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple localization initiatives simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality localized content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with localization management platforms (e.g., Smartling, Lokalise, Phrase).
- Familiarity with various international payment gateways and logistics providers.
- Previous experience in the apparel, fashion, or retail industry.
- Certifications in Shopify or e-commerce platforms.
