Job Description

Are you a dedicated nursing student looking to gain invaluable clinical experience while balancing your academic commitments? St. Luke’s Health System invites aspiring nurses to join our team as a Student Nurse Associate. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling designed to accommodate your studies, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world healthcare setting. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide essential patient care, enhance your clinical skills, and become an integral part of our compassionate care teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering direct patient care according to established protocols and care plans.
  • Perform basic patient care tasks including vital signs monitoring, personal hygiene, mobility assistance, and feeding.
  • Document patient observations, care provided, and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Participate in unit meetings and educational opportunities as available.
  • Observe and learn from experienced nurses, actively seeking opportunities for professional growth.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
  • Completed at least one semester of clinical rotations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a commitment to patient care.
  • Basic computer proficiency for charting and documentation.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., CNA, PCT, volunteer).
  • Strong academic standing in nursing coursework.
  • Availability for weekend or evening shifts.
